Temporal trends of phosphorus in urban atmospheric aerosols

نویسندگان

چکیده

Air particulate samples collected from a Canadian urban area station showed the seasonal trend of phosphorus with peak levels observed for April–June periods and not significantly changed between 2007 2015. The measured as total (TP) in digested aqueous extracts an exponential increase daily temperature (R 2 = 0.544, N 474), best correlation 2010 subset 0.727, 55). was suspended particles (TSP). Longer dry during spring to summer months favored higher P level on aerosols. precipitation pattern dependence indicate possible climate change influence aerosol levels. unchanged yearly TP content does directly reflect dropping surface water after 1990s same period.

Mass Concentrations and Elemental Composition of Urban Atmospheric Aerosols in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Aerosol samples were collected from 22 February 2008 to 15 April 2008 and 17 June 2008 to 23 July 2008 in urban and peri-urban areas of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with the aim to assess the spatial and temporal aspects of total suspended particulate (TSP) and particulate matter with aerodynamic diameter less than 10 μm (PM10) and their composition in terms of metallic elements. Sixty six filter sam...

Water Evaporation From Atmospheric Aerosols

With the recent discovery of the ubiquity of organic material in tropospheric aerosols, it has been postulated that the rates of water evaporation and condensation into the aerosols could be affected by thin surfactant films, which could ultimately affect cloud formation. Nathanson et al. have begun to study the effect of water evaporation from sulfuric acid solutions through the short-chain su...

Atmospheric Aerosols: Formation and Growth

It is widely recognised that the increasing atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane can potentially drive a significant warming process of the earth’s climate. However, a topic of more recent attention is the possibility that increased atmospheric concentrations of aerosol particles might drive a significant radiative forcing process of the planet (see,...

Atmospheric aerosols alter oceanic activity

Atmospheric aerosols alter oceanic activity Oceans remain a key convergence point where anthropogenic and natural environmental effects can affect climate change and alter food chains. For example, mineral dust, soot, organic molecules, and other microscopic particles can become aerosolized in the atmosphere and provide nutrients and trace metals for phytoplankton in the open ocean. Adina Payta...
